Alas, another weekend winds down... It's been a pretty good one though. :) Friday was my dad's birthday... My sister and I got him a cute card, and I gave him an oldies CD that I thought he'd like. On Saturday I started the day off by getting some sun out on my balcony while eating breakfast. I then went for a gym workout (I'm still sore as I'm writing this!) and returned home to do some general cleanup around the house. Later my mom called to tell me that a family friend, recenly widowed, was selling some of her furniture in preparation for moving in with her daugher in another state, so we stopped by the friend's house and ended up finding some pieces we liked (I bought a wooden desk, my mom got a bookcase and assorted smaller items). We then went to another family friend's place for a graduation party that featured lots of yummy Filipino food. :)

Today my mom and dad helped me transport the desk to my house, then we joined my sister and grandmother at church. For lunch we went to yet another family friend's home. This is the family that lives near my parents and has eight grandchildren, with two more on the way! So I got to play with some of the little ones before and after lunch. I had thought about joining my pal B at another party for dinner, but our signals got somehow crossed, and besides I was tired from the activities of the day :) so I ended up just having a low-key dinner at my parents' house. Right now I'm back home waiting for my laundry to finish so I can begin packing for this week's trip to HSV. My fingers are crossed that this week's travel experience will go more smoothly than the last!
