I hate how Mondays just kind of sneak up on you.

Anyway... 'twas a productive, fun, and tiring weekend. Had lunch w/my h.s. pal Karen on Saturday, then that evening helped my mom and sister paint their kitchen walls (where my dad had removed the wallpaper some time ago). Sunday the fam went to church as usual, then congregated at my house for lunch because they wanted to see my new bed. :) I then embarked on an ambitious shopping excursion to purchase a bunch of stuff in anticipation of the DC relatives' arrival this Wednesday. I eventually came home with several bed pillows, a new toaster oven (!), a small bedside table (one of those cheap plywood round things that you throw a cloth over), a small bedside lamp that I ended up giving to my parents because I grabbed a blue plaid one instead of plain white (they needed an additional light source in their bedroom anyway... but now I still have to go get one for my guest room as originally intended, oops), a new coffee maker for my parents, and misc. household supplies. Whew! My credit card and my arms and legs got quite a workout.

After that it was time to go to a friend's 30th birthday party in Naperville. As is typical for a Filipino party, there was an amazing amount of food, and scores of guests. :) At one point a bunch of us started brainstorming over names for my cousin and his wife's upcoming baby. Some suggestions: "Viper", "The Bomb Dropper", "Tinky-Winky", "Gustavo", "Broken Wind", and "Amos". :)
