Well, Lola's party weekend went pretty well, I must say! She was very surprised when all the relatives who came into town showed up at the house on Friday... and even more surprised on Saturday night when she arrived at her birthday party, thinking we were just going to a restaurant for dinner! :) I had fun hanging out with my sister and cousins and other relatives, and I got to do some "city" things (pizza in Wrigleyville, poetry slam at Green Mill) that I don't usually do. My cousin Karen and her husband and cutie 2-yr-old daughter (who called me "Uncle Wonald") were the last to leave; they headed home to Cali yesterday afternoon. All in all it was a great weekend!

Tomorrow is the arrival of the long awaited addition to the family... Mocha the rat terrier will be delivered at my parents' house. Here's hoping Mom, Dad, and Lola can keep up with the puppy :)
