Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Today I have plans to visit my parents' neighbor friends (the ones with multiple grandkids) with my sister around lunch time, then my family will head off to another family friends' house for Thanksgiving dinner. Woohoo!

Another productive weekend comes to a close... Friday night I accompanied my mom to a Glendale Heights Lions Club event (karaoke + birthday party). Saturday I lunched and chatted with my pals Mark and Dave. It was great catching up with Dave since I hadn't seen him since his wedding in September. Then today I went to church and lunch w/my mom and grandma, worked out for a bit at the gym (and watched the Bears finally win a game! The TV's at the gym were all tuned to the game and you could hear many gym patrons cheering :)), then cleaned up around the house. I also finally fixed my vacuum cleaner!

Looking forward to the Thanksgiving holiday. Lori will be arriving in town on Tuesday night via Greyhound. Thanksgiving will probably be spent with the Virays, and my parents have planned to have a small dinner at their house on Friday with our family and my aunt and her boyfriend. Should be a fun week! Now to just get those three pesky work days out of the way... ;)

I turned 28 years old today! Elderly me. :) It was a nice birthday though. This morning my parents and grandma and I went out for breakfast, with my sister and her three friends from IU. Then we all gathered at my house where I opened some presents :) then saw my sister and her pals off as they headed back to school. I served as lector at mass, then lunched with mom and grandma, and then visited Jimari and their new baby Sebastian. I had visited them at the hospital when Sebastian was one day old; he's now a mature five-day-old. :) Finally, after a short nap, I returned to my parents' place for a yummy spaghetti dinner. All in all, a very pleasant day!

Had a nice weekend. Hung out w/my best pal Mark G on Saturday. Spent some time with the parental units too. Then did lots of cleaning and stuff around the house the remainder of the weekend. I think my vacuum cleaner needs a new belt or something because I noticed a burning rubber smell while I was using it. :P

It's cold again today. The past few days have been relatively warm. Oh well. Such is autumn in Chicago. To prepare for even colder temps, I ordered a matching set of gloves, hat, and scarf that were on sale at Oldnavy.com. :)

Today I helped my mom put together a banner that will be displayed at the Lioness Club's Talent Showcase on Friday. I had to cut out a bunch of purple felt stars. It took me quite a while. I guess I'm not so adept with scissors. Anyway, the banner looks good. Mom can't wait for the show to be over and done with; it's been hectic getting prepared for it.

My sister and some friends will be driving up this Saturday for a visit. They're planning on checking out downtown Chicago since her friends are from Indiana and haven't seen much of the big city. I hope they'll have nice weather. OTOH, perhaps chilly and blustery conditions will make it a true Chicago experience for them. ;)

Woohoo!! I have broadband! :D The installation went smoothly and it's working well so far. I've finally entered the 21st century with my internet connectivity. :)

A humorous misunderstanding between two of my co-workers as we were heading back from lunch the other day:
T: "I can't believe I'm cold already!" (we just exited the building we ate in)
J: "You have a meeting at 3:00, you can't leave yet"
T: "...okay..."
J: "You know, your pre-design meeting?"
T: "...Yeah..."
J: "What did you say? Didn't you say you wanted to go home already?"

Meanwhile I'm walking in between them thinking I'm losing my mind, I was so confused. :) Much laughter ensued.
