I went to my college pal Josh's wedding reception last night. Met up with three of my other enginerd friends there... and found out that two of them are engaged (to each other)! :) Anyway, it was a fun time and a nice setting (a banquet hall in Geneva right on the banks of the Fox River).

Oh! I had my first Conversational Spanish class yesterday morning. We learned greetings, and the alphabet. Hopefully I'll catch on quickly. OK, hasta luego. ;)

Can it get any colder?! Well yeah I guess it can. But still. It has been freezing for the past several days here, it's just getting a little tiresome. :)

Nerd alert: I bought a cable modem router. This nifty little device lets me plug more than one computer into my cable modem connection, so I can have both my desktop PC and my work laptop online at the same time. I know, I know... I'm a geek. Anyway. I also re-arranged my computer equipment so I could have my photo printer and my laser printer both in my computer desk. Such a model of organization and efficiency I am. heheh

Apparently my sister made it on tv at some point during the broadcast of the Indiana-Illinois b-ball game. She called me to gloat (IU won :P) and during the call I heard excited screams - they found out from a dormmate that her group was shown on tv. I watched the game off-and-on but didn't manage to see her in the stands. But, she got it on tape. :)

Oh one last thing - Michelle Kwan won her seventh U.S. championship!!! Woohoo! I watched the live broadcast this evening and was blown away by how well she skated. I think I'll always be a fan of hers even if she doesn't win as often as she does, but it's definitely nice to see she's still got that fire in her.

Ah, the start of another week. This past weekend went by pretty fast. Yesterday, my mom and I drove Lori and one of her dorm-mates back to IU. The drive went smoothly. While on campus, I got to go book-shopping with Lori. Brought back some memories of my college days, including the memory of being shocked at how much a few books can cost!!!

Tonight after work my project team went out for dinner at a Mexican restaurant near our building. The food was yummo and atmosphere was fun. I had a margarita for the first time in years. It was pretty good, although it took me two hours to finish just the one glass! I'm such a lightweight when it comes to alcohol. Or maybe just in general! :)

Well, I survived the week, although this afternoon seemed to drag on f o r e v e r...

I bought a photo printer! Woohoo! I got the HP Photosmart 7350 at Best Buy (I used the gift cards I got from Greg and Mark to help pay for it). It can print documents on regular 8.5x11 paper in addition to photos on 4x6 paper. It's not super-portable like Jim's Photosmart 100, but the added versatility will hopefully make up for that. Plus, as with Jim's printer you can use it to print photos without it being plugged into the computer. I plan to make a few prints tonight to test it out. Or maybe more than a few. :)

This is gonna be such a long week at work, being that it's the first full week in a while. At least I have some new stuff to work on this week in addition to the re-work (due to some new architecture decisions) of some of the earlier stuff I had completed.

I think I'm going to buy a router for my cable modem so I can easily plug in my laptop and share the broadband connection with it (and anyone else who happens to bring over a networkable laptop ;)). I also want to get a photo printer. And maybe a webcam. Oh, and a surround-sound DVD system. I really need to stop looking at the Best Buy and Circuit City flyers every weekend. heheh

Happy New Year!!! Last night I had my parents, sister, and grandma over for dinner. I didn't cook though, my mom did. :) But she made this awesome stir-fry dish with filet mignon and lobster that was very yummy. Anywah, my aunt and her friend also stopped by for a bit, and one of my sister's friends. Also, Jon/Jerry's cousin Michelle and her husband Jeff made a surprise visit. It was great to see them; it's been a couple of years! Everyone except my immediate family left by 11pm, so the champagne toast at midnight only involved five people :) but it was still nice to ring in the new year with my family.
