Ooh! A new look for Blogger!

Anyway... it's been a whirlwind couple of weeks. Last weekend I visited my uncle and his family in Maryland, and attended a wedding there. But that wasn't the only big event of the weekend... My house was sold that Friday! I accepted an offer on Friday evening and signed the paperwork the following Monday. Craziness! I have one month to move out before closing. So I either need to find a place to buy and move into pronto, or I'll be living with the parental units for a little while. :) Which wouldn't be all that bad, really. It would just be a pain to move my stuff twice.

I felt sick in various ways (sneezy, congested, stomach ache) all week. I wonder if I am stressing too much about the house hunt, grad school, work, etc. Hopefully my upcoming vacation in MD for a friend's wedding will help.

Happy Birthday to my dad who turned *censored* years old yesterday! :) My family celebrated by treating him to brunch at IHOP.

Yesterday my college pals Steve and Sarah were wed in a lovely ceremony near Athens, IL. It was great to see them and our other GE study group pals. The reception was tons-o-fun, and for the first time ever I "caught" the bride's garter. I use the term "caught" loosely because it actually just fell at my feet... and I tried to sneak away but eventually I had to pick it up. :)

Today before driving back home I met up with some of the college crew for brunch at Bob Evan's. We only see each other once or twice a year so it was really nice to be able to chat and catch up on each other's lives.

Real estate update: a number of showings of my home have taken place the past few days. No offers yet, but it is good to see that people are at least interested in checking it out.

Well, I finally did it! My home is now on the market. Hopefully things will move along quickly so I can get into a place in the city soon!

Had a pretty fun weekend, aside from having to work again on Saturday (at least now I am done with the whole make-up-the-training-hours fiasco). Saturday night I attended a concert featuring Tom Tañada, a Filipino pianist/entertainer/recording artist who performs regularly at Walt Disney World and tours the country. This particular concert was sponsored by the Lions Club that my parents are members of. It was a good show, and I got an autographed copy of one of Tom's CDs. :)

On Sunday I finally broke down and bought a new stereo system to replace my aging and only semi-functional shelf system. I got a Sony Dream System from Circuit City. It features a 5-disc DVD/CD player, AM/FM tuner, and surround sound. So I've finally moved into the 1990's with my home theater technology. Heh.
