Packing packing packing... it's all I do any more. :) Tomorrow the movers are coming to put my belongings in storage while I wait to be able to move into my new place. My parents are excited about me staying with them for a few weeks. I wonder if Lori minds at all. ;)

Well I finally did it - put in a bid on a condo, and after one counter offer, the seller accepted! Woohoo!!! Now I have to secure financing, move out of my current place, set up and attend the closings, move in, and I will be a Chicagoan. :)

Lola felt dizzy yesterday and ended up spending the night at the hospital. Thankfully, she's doing better and can go home tonight.

I went house-hunting again today with realtor Barbara (referred to me by Amy). We looked at several condos and lofts in the West Loop. Right now the front-runners are two new-construction units: one is a resale in a just-finished on VanBuren, the other offered by the builder in a new building on Morgan. Both are really nice, with upgraded features and lots of light. It'll be tough deciding which one to bid on. I hope to be able to bring my mom and/or dad to take a look at them with me again; maybe they can help me choose!

Hopefully everyone had a fun and safe Independence Day. I attended a wedding yesterday afternoon/evening for a childhood pal of mine, Vanessa. She made a lovely bride and her new husband is a very nice guy. Congrats to them!

This past week has been pretty busy. Got the results back from the home inspection that the buyer of my home ordered; there are a few items that I don't feel are necessary to be repaired since they are mostly cosmetic, but I'll have to discuss that with my realtor and attorney. I also got the name of a broker that my friend Amy is working with; hopefully the agent can help kick-start my house-hunting.

Went to the Taste of Chicago for lunch on Tuesday with some co-workers... good stuff! It was nice to get a break from the usual lunch routine.
